How can I get tablets working on OS X?

I'm using a Wacom tablet on OS X 10.5. The tablet's working fine in general, but Inkscape is not recognizing it. If I go to File > Input Devices, I get “No extended input devices”.

I Googled and got tons of advice for solving this on Windows or Ubuntu, but not for OS X. What can I do?

i get also "no extended input devices" but i can use the tablet with Inkscape, I'm using the last X11 and a development version of inkscape.
