Is there a bug with Landscape printing on some printers?

Asked by DWade

I found a problem. I want to know if it been asked. If not it need to be reported as a bug

This is my question Is there a bug in Landscape printing? On color printers or color laser printers?

I found this problem:
Both windows version 0.46 win 32 and Linux Ubuntu 8.04 version 0.46 have the same problem.
I was trying to print a landscape 8.5 X 11 inch color drawing to a Xerox Docucolor 242.
I have the PPD and the printer installed in Linux and it works fine from PDF view, Open office and other programs.
I thought it might be a cups problem and went to windows xp.
I tried to print the same document in Inkscape from windows. same problem.

The color copier would beep and go to error mode, and kept saying in error mode wrong paper loaded. change paper in tray 1.

It was supposed to draw from tray 4. So the print dialog does not mix properly with printing functions in either Linux or Windows. If the drawing is rotated back to portrait it will print, but not correctly. It prints only Postscript text.

Thanks David Walker

There are many printing-related bugs reported. Please see if any of these matches your case.
Usually complex printing is done through pdf instead.

Can you help with this problem?
