Creating tear drop shapes?

Asked by badboy00z

What's the best method to create tear drop shapes? The method I use now is drawing 2 lines at exactly the same place and using the node tool to make the curves. Is there a better way to do it?

there is no good or bad way, the best way.. is the one that suits you ;)

ex: 1.get the bezier tool, make one node, this is the begining of the tear, make a second node under it where you want the tear to finish and then click back on the first node (it will become red when you are over it) so you'll have only 2 nodes.
get the node tool, and with the shift key, click and drag on the lower node (from the node to the left or right), this will take the handles out of it and create one site of the drop, click again the same way on the node to create the other side.

ex: 2. click to make the first node and holding the mouse button down, drag from the node to the direction where you want the side of the drop to go (ex down to the left), this will create a handle to point the curve in the right direction, make the second node under the first one where you want the down part of the tear, and still holding the mouse down drag to the side untill you have the desired lower curve of your drop, click back on the first node to close the drop (when closing the drop you can also hold down the mouse button and drag to adjust the angle of the curve coming back up).

there is many ways.. just experiment and use the one that suits you more.

hope this helps.
