i want to print a large drawing on one page

Asked by lesh

the design is an overhead view of an outdoor shade arbor, basically a number of different size rectangles on top of each other pretty simple, i drew it zoomed in at a pretty large format so i could use one grid box as one inch. now i want to print it onto one page but i can only get it to print a portion at a time in the large size. how can i zoom back out and print the whole drawing on a single page?

Under File...Print...Page Setup, you can use the "Scale" option to make your document fit on one page.

@ Dan Trevino: I think that "scale" option is a feature of your printer driver?

How about select all in all layers (Ctrl-Alt-a), group (Ctrl-g) and then simply drag so the image fits on one page (the size of page having been set in the document settings (Ctrl-Shift-d)).

no soap i tried the selecting and grouping and resized the page in document settings but still only prints a portion of the design. not sure what you mean by dragging the image to fit on one page, I opened a new file and set the document settings page size to letter and copied my design into the new file and also have changed the doc properties size to letter in the original.i have ctrl-alt-a selected evrything and pulled the corner tabs to shrink it to page size (or screen size anyway- not sure what's a page and what's a screen and why they're not the same or are they?) I have manually zoomed to fit the screen, i have clicked the zoom icon and plus minused my way to fit the screen size and even zoomed way out to make the image appear really tiny on the screen but still get a print of only a portion. the design was drawn with pixel sizing i don't know if that makes a difference or not.
anyway thanks for the info and help.

I can not get my drawing that is done on legal size paper 8.5" x 14" set up in document prefereces to print to full size, it leaves off 3 inches of the drawing. When I check the "print Preview" it shows the entire document, and also the paper selection indicates the legal size of paper.
