Can I round just one corner of a box?

Asked by mdrmom

I need to round just one corner of a box. I am printing labels, and they will be printed on stickers with rounded corners. I like the look of the sharp corners, but need to fit it in preset label parameters.

Hi,

You can't do it directly with the Rectangle tool.
You need to convert your box first (Path>Object to path), and then tweak the corner you want to round with the Node tool.

Does it help?

Can your provide answers as to what to do once it's a path? I can manage to make it like a whale hump, but not a perfectly formed round corner.

You can also play with boolean commands:
1. Draw your original rectangle.
2. Duplicate it twice.
3. Round all 4 corners of the first duplicate.
4. Align the two duplicates, and use Path>Exclusion, and Path>Break Apart.
5. Align a rounded path to the original rectangle's angle, select both paths, and use Path>Difference.

It's a bit longer, but probably more precise.

Can you help with this problem?
