Inkscape

Mac OSX 10.5.4 and x11

I downloaded Inkscape v.46 and X11-2.3.0. When I click the X11 icon in my utilities folder, it runs and suddenly stops. I also opened Inkscape and it looks like it opened because I saw the word Inscape at the top menu next to the apple symbol. But it failed to open. The mouse pointer turned into a rotating color wheel.

when you launch inkscape if you see "Inkscape" next to the apple menu.. it might be a version that doesn't need X11.

Anyway you can find the last X11 version here:
http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki

and development versions of Inkscape for osx here:
http://inkscape.modevia.com/macosx-snap/?M=D

try one of those versions to see if it helps
