When I click on bezier or pen tools, I don't now get the perameters appearing on tool bar.

I don't get the perameter toolbar appearing when I want to use bezier curve tool or draw freehand tools anymore. I used to when I first installed version .46 but today they have disappeared. I don't know if I have inadvertantly altered a setting or not. So I cannot select the smoothing option when trying to draw a heart for example.

I have checked that and it is ticked. I get tool controls bar come up with every other tool except the bezier and frehand draw tools. The bar comes up but it is blank.

which version of inkscape and which os are you using?

I have the exact same problem.
I use 0.46 and so does sueneedham (as he wrote in his/her question)

I have this problem as well and don't see an answer. The show/hide menu is checked.

Did this question ever get answered. I have the same problem and can't change it to a curve like I saw on you tube. The show toolbar is clicked. I am using an apple computer and it doesn't show up.
