Cut paste problem / cloning

I am simply cutting a portion of the image that I have selected and want to paste it on a new image in another window.

It will paste anywhere in the current window, but I can not get the section pasted in the new window.

Seem elementary. I must be doing something wrong.

Works fine for me, exept that the copy is pasted in the same place in the new window, and that I can't move it.

Works for me too Inkscape 0.46+devel, built Apr 6 2008 on Kubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid + KDE4.2), ie Linux.

No problem with placing a copied or cut item for me Nico.
