Did you set File Menu > Input Devices.. correctly for your tablet?

try also

File Menu > Inkscape preferences > Mouse
and check "Switch tool based on tablet device"

that worked for me but i'm using a wacom

I work perfectly with my tablet but when you select the mouse can not continue. The previous version of Inscape admission alternative use of tablet and mouse.
