how do I show crosshairs for a porfessional printer?

Asked by ggates67

I have created an eps file that needs to be sent to a professional printer, since I'm not a graphic artist by any means, i want to be able to show crosshairs so the printer knows where the edges are as well as where to make the cuts.

Hi,

A new extension (Printing Marks) exists, but only for the dev version, and with some limitations (related to CMYK, mainly). And it's only an extension, not an export option. I hope one day it'll be available in the PDF and eps export dialogs...

I'm pretty sure that Scribus does printing registration marks; possibly Acrobat Reader (acroread) does too. You can import SVG into Scribus but I've rarely found this to be satisfactory, it is getting better all the time though. YMMV.

sk1 may be worth a look in this respect too as I think they have a CMYK color process built in.
