how to give more memory to inkcape

Hello ; )
I would really like to set Inkscape's "memory and scratch" to a higher percentage in hope that it could increase performance because my computer gets really slow on Inkscape although I have 3GB of memory.
(I know it is possible since I've done it on another image software but haven't found that option on Inkscape).
Could someone tell how to do that?
PS: I'm running inkscape 0.46 on win XP

No, inkscape does not have such an option, it takes all the memory it needs anyway. But to improve performance you could try out devel version with different view modes (outline, no filters) and filter quality settings in preferences.
