margins

how do you appyly magins, i am new to inkscape and am using it to put together articles for a magazine at uni, also have already started so can i apply margins after or does it have to be before?

Inkscape is not the best tool to do that. Have you tried using Scribus?
There's no way to set margins as in desktop publishing software, but you can set guides and grids instead.
