bought a vinyl cutter with software that ended up being void of basic tasks like welding and arc txt f

Asked by mrs. boss

I am a new owner of a vinyl cutter and it came with flexi starter which does not
have arc txt tool or the weld option. Does Inkscape have the weld option? I have been looking at
the documentation with inkscape and am having a hard time translating it to fit my needs?
Also I was told that I have to convert
items I want to import into flexi to cut to an Ai file. I have never seen that
option.. I have tried adobe illustrator, inkscape and serif graphic?
any suggestions?

1. All path maths is in Path menu, having a little unusual names, Weld is named "Union".
2. You could try renaming pdf files to .ai

I found union in the inkscape path, but nothing is happening ...
the cut lines are still there when I import into flexi.

mrs. boss: You shoud try a development version of inkscape. They have better PDF/AI and EPS support.
get one from here: http://inkscape.modevia.com/win32/?M=D

There's a nice tool called uniconvertor that allows you to convert files between different vector formats.

Can you help with this problem?
