Native Mac OS X version of Inkscape?

A few months ago on Inkscape's website, I remember a news item stating that someone was working on a version of Inkscape that runs native on Mac OS X. I realize that this is not top priority by even a longshot, but I was just wondering—is this still something that is being looked into from time to time? (I don't think I need to explain the woes of X11 on OS X. :)
