cant print my file from second pc

Asked by Eddie Dicker on 2017-03-03

I have created an svg template file, which is basically a border with texts and images; that I place other images into and save as .svg then print to pdf.
I can open, edit, save and print this file fine from my computer.
My friend also has inkscape loaded on his computer and wants to make use of my template.
it can be opened edited and saved, but upon trying to print; we get a runtime error.
it does not mater what the print source, it always does the same.
We get 'application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way', clicking ok on that dialogue box shuts inkscape down.
Both computers are running windows 7 64 bit, (therefore the 64bit inkscape) ;as a test I installed inkscape on a win10 pc and that does the same thing.
it seems the only place my template can be used; is on my machine?
is this something that has cropped up for other people and is there a fix?
thanks
Eddie
