Any tips for fudging the vertical text rastor printing mirrored?

Asked by designergirl28

I have a project that I have been working on for a while that has gotten messed up when I downloaded the new version of Inkscape. I have some text that is vertical (not rotated) which looks fine on the screen, but when you rastor print ends up mirrored. This part of the project is mostly font....but in a color option not doable/printable by the other programs I have available to me. Printing to PDF is not working...it rescales it or makes the font too fuzzy to read.

So any suggestions on how I can get it to print right in Inkscape? any ideas on how to fudge it?

TIA!

I think getting the old inkscape would be the most straightforward way. You can have whatever number of inkscape versions installed. Inkscape installer does nothing but extracts files to one directory. You can move this directory, rename it (note that automagic opening with inkscape and start menu icons may not work).
So you could have c:\Program Files\inkscape-0.45 and c:\Program Files\inkscape-0.46 and c:\Program Files\inkscape-devel-rev20190
Also you could check the latest devel version out to see if this works. In devel version PDF export has improved a lot.

Thanks for that option. I did end up fudging with a standard text box and by hitting "enter" after each letter I was able to recreate the look in a horizontal text box. Since I needed to complete the project (wedding invites must be ready for the printers) this will work ok for me.
