new user I would like to learn how to arch my words

I can get my words to arch I only figured out how to do one letter at a time

Simplest way is to draw a path (eg with Bezier tool), or use an object (circle, star, square, spiral) and convert it to a path with (Path > Object to Path), then select your text and your path (eg drag with select tool) and use Text > Put on Path.

You can then use the path edit tool to alter the path or select the text with the text tool and then manually adjust letter rotations (Alt-[, Alt-]) or change tracking (Alt-,, Alt-.), etc..

I'd really recommend working through the tutorials (Help > Tutorials > ...) they're very useful.
