Export Inkscape to Gimp without precision lost

Asked by Alain

Hello.

But I have to include an Inkscape picture in a Microsoft Word file.
So, I have tried some intermediate file format to do that but it doesn't work.
So, I use Gimp to translate my Inkscape picture to a TIFF or any other format accepted by Word.
So, I have to export my picture from Inkscape to Gimp.
I want to keep all the details of my picture so I use the SVG text format.
But, in Gimp, when I re-open my SVG file, I loose precision.
Do you have a solution to keep all the details of my picture ?

Sorry for my bad english...
Alain from Belgium.

If you are going to rasterize it anyway, use inkscape export bitmap instead.
But I would use WMF format instead, if possible.

Have you tried the export bitmap in Inkscape? This will export a .png file which can be imported into Word. I just tested the 0.46 version's export, and the fidelity seems excellent.

OK.

It work well with the bitmap export option.
I had tested this option before but, now, I have put a high value for the "ppp" parameter and it is OK.
Thanks a lot to Tuxi and Mahfiaz.

Alain.
