Asked by Raul

Hi,

I'm very interested on using Inkscape as appeared on following use case:

http://www.inkscape.org/showcase/gallery/inkscape_rpg_map.png.

These are simple clones. See edit menu or try Alt+D.

thanks mahfiaz,

but I'm confused... on http://www.inkscape.org/showcase/index.php?lang=es&css=css/base.css we can see that Nicu Buculai makes use of "stamps libraries"... what's that??... How to create a stamp library?

Best regards,

Yes, the thing you see on the left (outside of actual drawing) is the library. All the objects on the canvas are clones. Now when you edit one of the originals on the left, all clones change.

thanks mahfiaz,

I understand this context, but, about library on the left... I'm comparing with Flash. In Flash, you have diverse object libraries, which are reusable on any new document. (as Object Collections...). It's a part of Flash-app-structure, and are independent of the structure of a document. Therefore, when you have a new object into a document, you can to add it to the library and to reuse it.

When we say "stamp libraries", are we saying the same context as object libraries on Flash? or it's just an static document or template with some vector-objects "incrusted" in?

What could be the process to create an stamp library? any example on www?

best regards,

No special library collection. Only libraries mentioned in translation files refer to openclipart library plugin.

So the "incrusted" in thing is true. And most likely any future implementation of "Real Library" would simply show thumbnails from previously set directories.

The most inkscape-like library at moment would be directory of svg files. (which lacks a UI viewer named "Library").

But see the blueprint about this and add your thoughts.
