boxes don't show in pdf

Asked by kellvarner

I created a newsletter in Inkscape and used colored boxes with white text. There are images behind the boxes and text. When I save the file as a pdf the boxes don't show up (everything else shows up). This is crucial to the design of the newsletter, as you can't read the text otherwise. I don't think I have to get into design principals as this is a design program- as you can probably tell I'm a little frustrated and need the problem fixed. Please help. I need this done soon. Thank you.

Are you using 0.46? Then you might try developement version from http://www.inkscape.org/download/ as PDF export has been improved lately. Or search wiki for compiling if you are a linux user.

You should really download the development version and try this. You can have many versions of inkscape installed parallel, so if development version fails for some tasks, you can use the stable one instead.
Also you may try scribus to import your created SVG image and export to PDF.

Can you help with this problem?
