Exporting to pdf gives only opaque paths

Finished working on a design which has lots of transparent paths within it.

When I export it to pdf all the paths become opaque.

Not sure what is the issue as exporting it as a png file works absolutely fine.

Hi Luke,

can you provide the svg image, the resulting pdf file and a screenshot of your export options?
Please also tell us about your operating system (and its version) and your Inkscape version.

File hosters are websites like google drive, dropbox or framadrop.org.
