How to start to develop new feature

Asked by Juriy on 2017-02-08

Hi there!

I'm new to working on opensource project. I want to develop new inner extension of inkscape.

Feature should do: 1) Make pathes connectors (meaning not tool, but path with special attributes in inkscape namespace); 2) Connect the nearest object to one of endings of new connector.

I want to do it fast (as possible, course) -- this mean I want to do it efficially, you know. And want to publish my results for the sake of humanity.

Can I found collaborators/ helpers and How to find they, if so?
What the best approach to satisfy my goals ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Juriy,

welcome :)

To get started with development, please find the necessary info at:
https://inkscape.org/en/develop/getting-started/

(I'm not a developer, so please forgive my brevity)

Kind Regards,
 Maren

Also take a look at the page https://inkscape.org/en/develop/ , which describes how to contact people (sorry, I confused the two pages).

Thanks for links, already done with it.

Ok, it's quite a different task )) I will develop and as background task later will connect with developers.

Can you help with this problem?
