Cannot get Gradient mesh to work

I;m trying to use Gradient mesh but can't'get it to work. When I double click the shape I want to apply the gradient to, it turn white. Also applying colors to the gradient mesh point has no effect. What am I overlooking here? Ref this video: https://youtu.be/qoqRq5oXE8Q

Hi Michael,

please upgrade to Inkscape 0.92. I think in the specific version you are using, you do not have the right version of the library installed that is needed to make the mesh work.
