Copyright symbol not registering with inkscape

Asked by Denise

Hello. I am having trouble generating a copyright symbol and Trademark (TM) symbol using the font JulietRose on Inkscape. Typically I would hold down the ALT button and 0169 for the copyright symbol and ALT 0153 for the trademark, however nothing happens. JuliettRose supports each of these symbols in it's font, so I'm at a loss as to what to do next. I tried to google a solution to no avail. Denise.

Inkscape doesn't support the ALT-key method of entering non-ASCII characters. Instead you have to use Ctrl+U followed by a four digit hex number, followed by ENTER.

copyright symbol: Ctrl+U 0 0 a 9 ENTER
trademark symbol: Ctrl+U 2 1 2 2 ENTER

It's also possible to copy the characters from elsewhere, and paste (Ctrl+V) them in.
