How do I resize my letter to a greeting size card?

I am new to Inkscape and would like to write on a thank you size card rather than a letter size. How can i resize my page or canvas?

Hi Douglas,

you can edit the document's size in the dialog that comes up when you click on
File -> Document properties.

When I try to open the document properties nothing happens. I click on it and no dialog box opens.

Hi Douglas,

if you had opened the dialog before, look at the right of the screen, into the dock bar. This is where docked dialogs appear. If you have minimized it, by clicking on the tiny triangle at the top, it may just be a short vertical text or an icon there. It may also be that you need to close the other dialogs in the dock to make the dialog icon appear, or maybe you just need to scroll down.

When you have verified that the dialog is not in the dock, please check if it's on a different screen. On OS X, with multiple monitors, there's an issue with dialogs opening on a different monitor.
