Is it possible to combine objects into one without grouping objects?

Asked by SwordsMan322

I'm new at Inkscape and I want to know:

Is it possible to combine objects into one whole objects without using the grouping feature. I'm asking this because I want all the object on a layer merge into one, not grouped together.

Please reply and thank you...

It's in menu: Path - Combine/Break

Is this the only way to combine paths beside using Group/Ungroup feature? Why I'm asking this is because it made everything turned into one color rather than making all the colors stay the same without having to change it...

I'm trying to combine blocks without having to change all the colors of the object into one, single color. If there is know other way, than I guess your answer is fine...

Grouping is the only way to do it while keeping the colours the same. It's not clear from your question why you think grouping is unsatisfactory - if you explained this, maybe we could give more helpful answers.
