Trace bitmap seems broken on v0.92+OS X 10.11

Asked by Emil Kaae Hansen

Hi,

I've installed potrace and Inkscape via brew. I am unable to get the trace bitmap function to work; it is simply missing from the drop down menu. Although it is in the context menu, it does not seem to activate properly. Is this a bug or is my installation broken somehow?

I am working with a dual monitor setup; not sure if that is causing the problem. When I do a "show all windows", it does not reveal any hidden ones (as is the case when I try to open document preferences; that one seems to show up off–screen but is visible when showing all windows).

Warm regards,
Emil

I can confirm that my copy, installed through Homebrew on macOS 10.12 is also the Trace Bitmap option in the menu.

Hi Emil,

can you ask the person who made the Homebrew available?
I suspect that the potrace program, which is needed for this to be working, isn't installed properly on your computer.
Please, when you ask, also mention your OS X version to them.

Kind Regards,
 Maren
