There is not (yet) an official version of 0.92 that can be installed from a DMG, due to some changes in the way that the Mac version is structured, and due to changes in the different roles that people play on the Inkscape team. There are people working towards the full stand-alone Mac release, but the core development team decided to go ahead with the 0.92 release a little sooner (at least for the platforms where it was ready) than when it was little more complete.

For the moment, it is no sin whatsoever to stick with Inkscape 0.91.

I too am anxious for the new version, but please remember that Inkscape is written and maintained by volunteers. (And now, volunteers who know that the Mac users are eager for the new version.)
