Cannot see any "hardware" tab on Input Devices window

I have some troubles in configuring my HUION420 pen with pressure sensitivity. Most of all, if I choose "Input Devices" from my menus, no "Hardware" tab is present.
My Ubuntu version is 16.04 and Inkscape is version 0.91

Hi Marco,

the Input Devices dialog has been changed since the manual was written by Tavmjong Bah.

The only options left are the 3 choices for the mode in the dropdown. I always use 'Screen' because that's what worked for me. It'll need a restart of Inkscape (and for me, the program crashes when it's running if the pen is plugged in, so be careful - I always plug it in first, then start Inkscape and work, then close Inkscape, then pull the plug.)

That said, there may be other reasons for the tablet not working correctly.

I'm also using a HUION device on Ubuntu 16.04 (or rather, Linux Mint 18), and what I had to do to make it work again (it stopped working after the upgrade from 14.04) was to compile the driver from here:

(additionally, I need to setup the xinput stuff for screen/tablet size ratio each time I plug in the tablet)

That's the rough summary of what I know, it's not a lot, and I haven't tested with Inkscape 0.92 and the freshly updated kernel yet...
