Is it possible to define multiple fonts (i.e fallback font) without editing source?

Asked by voidvector

Is it possible to define multiple fonts (i.e fallback font) without editing source? If not I would like to request this feature.

Most of my Inkscape usage involves making SVGs for Wikimedia. Those image are primarily used two ways, 1) viewed directly by people using Windows, 2) converted by server to PNG.

Wikimedia server has a collection of free software fonts, while most visitors' computer has a collection of Windows/Microsoft font. So it will render differently. For the ease of translation, I leave the text in text format (instead of convert to path).

After playing around with it for a few minutes, I don't see anyway to do this through the GUI. I think editing the XML is going to be your only option for now.
