In "tutorial_shapes" The rectangle won't draw as a solid blue rectangle, why?

Asked by Launchpadologist

My rectangle is see through.
When I draw a rectangle, I hit CTRL+SHFT+F and this is how it is setup.
Under FILL, Flat color is checked, A is set to 255, Blur is 0%, Opacity is at 100%.
Under Stroke Paint, Flat color is checked, A is set to 255, Blur is 0%, Opacity is at 100%.
No matter what I do I cannot get the program to draw a solid blue rectangle.
Thanks

I have the same problem and I've just removed the program from my computer out of frustration :O The first thing they teach you to do is to draw a rectangle and that's where I begin to loose it. I've changed the stroke color and the fill colour to solid black but my rectangle is still invisible. I have the same problem with drawing stars. Let's hope it's a download malfunction and that it won't happen again when I download Inkscape for the second time ...
