trace bitmap not coming jup

when i click on trace bitmap, the box is not coming up

Hi Nichole,

please look into the dock at the right.

You will either see the dialog minimized as an icon or a text, then click on the icon or the text.
Or you will need to scroll down in the dock, to find the dialog at the bottom.
Or it may also be that you need to close some of the dialogs in the dock, to make the minimized icon appear.

The minimization is caused by a click on the small triangle icon in the right upper corner of the dockable dialogs.

The dialog not coming to the top and being visible right away when selected after having been minimized is a known issue in Inkscape 0.91 and 0.92.

I thought similarly Maren as I am having the same issue, but I am not even seeing it show up in the right hand dock.

Hi Oskar,

can you start Inkscape from the terminal, and look if there are any messages when you try to open the dialog?

(also: what's your Inkscape version, what's your operating system, did you also close the other dialogs in the dock and try if you find the dialog somewhere when you scroll down? It's sometimes a bit surprising where it hides.

If you have multiple monitors and are on OS X, then look at the other monitor. At inkscapeforum.com, there's a thread somewhere about the OS X issue, with solutions, I believe.)
