Hi Bradley,

that's a strange problem that I've never heard about before.

Is it new? If so, what changed on your computer since it worked as expected?

What's your Inkscape version?
What's your operating system?

Did it persist after a reboot?

Kind Regards,
 Maren

(as a workaround, you can use the Text + Font dialog, Text -> Text and Font)

Nothing has changed on the computer. The inkscape version is 0.91 and it is on windows 7. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program a couple of times. Same result each time. A co worker suggested going to the registery and deleting the leftover files there, after uninstalling it. I havent tried that yet.

I've now searched the bug reports with the additional info you gave here, but can't find anything like this, nor do I have any idea about the reasons.

I'd suggest you either make a new bug report here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape

or send a message to the user mailing list to see if there are other affected users and to hear if someone has found a solution:
https://inkscape.org/en/community/mailing-lists/

Kind Regards,
 Maren
