can i convert an image file into a vector file ?

I have a .gif file of a scanned image. i need to separate the images within the .gif file can i convert this image to curves? or is there another way to separate the images with one . gif file ?

You can convert to curves using Trace Bitmap (on the Path menu). How well it will work depends on the image, and you may need to experiment with the settings.

Not with Inkscape, but that may be possible with a bitmap editor (depending on the image).

The scanned image is .tif. Is there a conversion for the drawing to .gif and into Bitmap?

I am building a web page header and I would like to place a PayPal image in the corner, I can only copy the image by copying the code. the code will not copy to FotoFlexer page. What can I do?

You might try printing out the image and scanning it. Then got to Word
 > insert > picture> the scan of the image. It will appear on the
screen in the document that is open. Hopefully you can move it around
to the desired location. You could also take a picture of the logo and
copy it to a document same as a scan.

I have a image that's for a school, we are trying to make car decals with. I have scanned the image to the computer and saved it as a SVG file, but when I email the image it comes out black. HELP!! What can I do to get this fixed??
