I upgraded to Xubuntu 16.10 -- suddenly there are no "end markers" in Inkscape, and no arrows

Asked by JonNicholson

I use Inkscape all the time for my work. I upgraded to Ubuntu/Xubuntu 16.10 recently, and when I go to the "Fill and Stroke" menu panel, there are no arrow end-markers anymore. Is this a problem with the most recent version? Previously, no problem. Is there a package that I'm missing?

Hi Jon,

this is a known bug in packaging by Ubuntu (they 'cleaned' the svgs that come with the program), see https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1638373, comment #10 to find the files that you'd need to copy to get a complete Inkscape.
