Font

Asked by April

Hi I bought a cursive font from Creative Market. I imported it to Inkscape, but I noticed when I type a word, there is a space between each letter instead of them being connected. I'm not sure if this is standard format for inkscape, is there anything I can do to get around this?

Hi April,

'importing' a font into Inkscape is currently not possible (that would mean that you can edit the letters) - so I assume you installed it onto your system, opened Inkscape and are now using it there.

Does the font look different when you use it in another application, e.g. Word, LibreOffice or another office suite?

You can set the letter distance in the text tool's tool control bar: distance between letters. If then, for single letters it still doesn't look right, you can use the horizontal kerning field, or click between the letters and use Alt + arrow keys to move the letters.

Kind Regards,
 Maren
