export to png function not working

am using inkscape 0.91 on ubuntu 16.04

the feature of exporting as png not working
and save as png format , creates a blurred copy of the desgn

Don't use "save as" but "File->export png image (shift+ctrl+e)". It will open a docked dialog on the right of the screen with the settings to choose to export.

The dialog for 'export as png' may not open, because it could be minimized in the dock area. Please look at the right of your window, and see if there is an icon for the dialog. It may also be that you need to scroll down in your dock area to find the export to png dialog.

This is a bug in Inkscape 0.91, which will also be present in the next version - it'll be solved in 0.93, though.

Or, if you have multiple monitors, then it may be opening on one of the other monitors on a Mac. In that case see also:
