breaking apart and selecting nodes
I work on SVG drawings in black and white, that can be used as positive/negative for silkscreens. Have experience with Illustrator and Corel. In Inkscape, when clicking to select a node, or use the selection box (once nodes are visible), I cannot scale just those selected nodes, rotate. It seems I can't get the drawing to break apart or ungroup. Imagine a page with several question marks and exclamation points, distributed randomly, that are of different sizes. The task is to scale and rotate them so they are of same size and orientation. The problem I'm having is that when I click on one, they all get selected, and I get nowhere. I attempt to ungroup, but they don't. Maybe the page itself is holding all the objects together? Also, it would help to be able to select say, the period part, copy and paste that part over and over. Seems Inkscape should do this, as the other programs do. On another note, a right click menu to add or delete or join open ended nodes would help.
