inkscape doesn't work

I could not find any place where I could place this question so I hope that someone could help me. Or give me a link where I can post my question for help/support.

In the past I used InkScape for one drawings and that works fine. But now going something wrong and I don’t know what.
When I try to draw a square or a circle, a cube I don’t see anything only the counters. When I draw a square I see that the mouse cursor did have the chosen color but on the page it’s disappears. I’d tried with different colors but without results.
I did uninstalled InkScape and install again but without any result. I thought maybe my settings are wrong? I really don't know what is going on.

This is what I see. (it is not possible to place a picture here I'm sorry.) Maybe there is someone who could tell me what I doing wrong?
