I am trying to add my own symbols to a library or a symbols directory, how do i do this?

I trying to create my own library with my own symbols, and i cannot find clear directions on how and where to save them. I also do not see in my Roaming/inscape directory the Symbols folder (where i thought originally i could save them).

Hi Trish,

according to the FAQ (https://inkscape.org/en/learn/faq/#how-to-install-new-extensions-palettes-document-templates-symbol-sets-icon-sets-etc), that is the correct folder - I'm not a Windows user.

If the subfolder 'symbols' does not exist, then you need to create it before you save your symbols library there.

Also make sure you follow the instructions on creating your own symbols libraries here:
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~inkscape.dev/inkscape/RELEASE_0_91_BRANCH/view/head:/share/symbols/README
to get an optimal symbols library file.
