Shapes, like ovals and circles have corners making them squares and diamonds. What am I missing?

Asked by carol

I am trying to create some simple cut shapes and save as svg files for cutting. Circles are cutting as squares and ovals as diamonds although they appear on screen as circles and ovals. Am I missing a step? What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Hi Carol,

this sounds to me as if your cutting software wouldn't support ellipse elements (but I can't know, of course). I would try if it works when you convert them to plain paths by selecting them, then doing Path -> Object to path.

Kind Regards,
 Maren
