make Inkscape vector compatible with Illustrator 8

I don't quite understand your needs. Do you need just any file type outputted by Inkscape to be compatible with AI8 or some specific one?

Hi, Alexandre.  Thanks for responding.    I submitted one of my Inkscape drawings in eps. format to an agency that sells vector graphics.  The image was rejected because the image was not "editable in Illustrator, version 8" (which is an agency requirement).  Is there any way to increase the likelihood that an Inkscape eps. image will be editable by Illustrator 8?    It has been suggested to me that not using transparencies in the image might help.  Any further thoughts from you?    Thanks for your help.    Mark

Does the EPS file work in other apps, ie is it viewable with default viewers in your distro? If so it may be an AI8 bug, you should report it to Adobe and see if they provide a fix.
