Inkscape currently has fairly rudimentary control over text. The online manual has pretty clear explanations.
1) only manual kerning available via left and right arrows in conjunction with Ctrl-Alt keys
2) baseline shifting is accomplished by selecting the text and using the up and down arrows in conjunction with Ctrl-Alt keys
3) not sure what the question is here but line breaks are inserted simply by typing a return
4) cut and paste

Okey. Thanks. I hope, that in following versions of Inkscape the control over the text will be richer.
