Inkscape

can not draw shapes; can't see shape nor fill

I am new with Inkscape. The above is a bit over whelming for me to search for the exact situation that I'm struggling with. For all I know it might be cockpit error. When I try to draw a shape I do not see any solid lines, just dashes. No fill, No outline. It started when I attempted to draw a 3D box and couldn't per this condition.

sorry about the spam, launchpad has quite some difficulties with it.

You're right about the cockpit error - in this case, it's the pilot who still needs to learn how to fly with Inkscape ;-)
The objects you are creating are just transparent.
