purpose of frame

Asked by thistleart

hello
I use a few drawing programs. yours has features unique to me and I find some of them useful.
There are many things I am learning about your program, but cannot see any purpose for the frame wherein i seem to be able to draw objects both in and out of it. I once saw a spot on a drop down menu as to how to eliminate it. I did that and it worked just fine. Now I cannot seem to repeat that process. How is that done?

Additionally, I tried to snap to grid and nothing seems to snap. Is that only for particular objects?

Yours,
Frank

Do you mean the border page? I'm not quite sure what did you mean. The border is hidden from File->Document properties..., at the bottom of the dialog.

no. when I open a new documen, I get a frame in the middle of it. I am able to put objects in and around this fame. It does not seem to have any value except an annoyance. I am sure there is a use for it, however.

Well, to me what you're describing is the page border. Did you try to disable it to see if we are talking about the same thing?

You don't have to close the question if you feel is not solved yet.
