To cut out an object from a picture?

Please help...

In a picture, I need to cut out an object from its unnecessary background..

How do I do this in Inkscape...? I would need a detailed description as I have no clue.

I have a pc.

Help please. How can I cut out in a objects, in Corel Draw I can do with photopaint using a eraser tool. How can I do using Inkscape... you know if there are in a community somebody speak spanish, because I don`t speak english than better.....

In upcoming version 0.47 you will be able to start GIMP from Inkscape and change the bitmap in GIMP.
