Support for Dingbats Fonts

I am trying to use dingbat fonts to create vector graphics. I can't even find webdings and wingdings on the list of font in inkscape. I downloaded many TrueType fonts. I installed many fonts and most can be used on inkscape with exception of fonts that are dingbats.

I am using WinXp SP2. Inkscape 0.46

This is a known problem on Windows (bug 165665).
