How do I copy and paste material from Inkscape onto a webpage

Asked by Richard France

I am new to Inkscape, and have looked at the 'Basic Tutorial.' However, the basic tutorial doesn't seem to tell me the proper way to enter coloured text and pictures and shapes

I want to put images, text, shapes, etc. onto a wordpress webpage. Wordpress do have an editing page, and that allows me to upload text. However, for images and shapes I have been advised to use Inkscape.

Please can you tell me how do I do this?

Hi Richard,

you need to find out what kind of images your wordpress installation will accept. There may be a plugin necessary to be able to upload / use svg images directly.

If you don't really have a need for using svg images (i.e. vectors), you can also export to png (i.e. raster image, like jpg or gif), via File -> Export to PNG.
Find a tutorial here: http://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/quick-tip-how-to-export-your-artwork-in-inkscape--vector-18228

For how to add pictures into your Wordpress editor, please refer to the documentation of that specific editor.

Kind Regards,
 Maren
