swatches: very important list mode feature disapeared

Asked by nitrofurano

i'm using Inkscape 0.46 (apr 7 2008, from Ubuntu 8.04 repository, not updated), and i have missing a very important feature: the list mode, which displays one colour in each line, followed from their each name, one per line, just like available from all versions of Freehand (Altsys/Macromedia/Adobe)

it's really annoying have to know the colour name having to do mouse over on each colour, and have to memorize everything again and again all the time... (it's everything but productive...)

Even being hard now to get back this very important display mode of Swatches display, is that possible to have it editing '~/.inkscape/preferences.xml'? I found there:
    <group
       id="swatches"
       panel_size="1"
       panel_mode="1"
       panel_ratio="100"
       panel_wrap="0"
       palette="Inkscape default" />
  </group>

but i don't know how to get the list mode back from there...

please help! Swatches list mode is really, really needed. I'm feeling forced to use outdated versions of Inkscape because of it...

sorry - it was a mistake - i simply didn't remember this choice is done up in the list of the palettes available (very easy to forget, anyway...)
