how do I fill an area to the line

Asked by kris4jc

I have used the bezier tool to draw a graphic... I need to know how to fill only portions of the path, and fill it to line... everytime I try it tells me that the area i want to fill is not bounded. How do I either bound it to change the threshold to 100 and am able to fill the whole area... or just fill it a different way?

have you tried the Fill and Stroke Dialog? On the Fill tab you just choose the color you want for your fill.

But if your path isn't closed the part between the end nodes will be a straight line without stroke.

If you want to close the path you're drawing, remember to make the last click with the Bezier tool on the first node you had drawn. Then fill the area with any color you want, and you can use the Fill and stroke dialog to do that, you don't need to use the Bucket fill. Bucket fill creates a new object while with the Fill and Stroke Dialog you assign the fill color to the existing path you've drawn with Bezier tool.
